This webinar will explore what it means to "write" Black women. Black feminist writers and artists discuss how they insert their presence into public narratives, noting the power of representation. This event is connected to the development of Zora on My Mind, a chamber musical about a Black woman's journey, also sponsored by the Racial Justice Institute, which builds on the writings of Zora Neale Hurston. The production asks how Black women realize futurity while living lives in response to external expectations.
