Bitter Flower at the Gonda Theater, Georgetown University

Bitter Flower explores the relationship between two major figures of the suffrage movement, Ida B. Wells-Barnett and Jane Addams. Award-winning novelist and playwright Jennifer Natalya Fink, Department of English & Program in Disability Studies reimagines this exchange as a series of meetings between Wells-Barnett and Addams. An inventive chorus of hats represents the diverse perspectives of women from the hat maker's union. The production is directed by Anita Gonzalez.  Jonathan Girling who recently composed the music for The Kite Runner on Broadway will develop music and sound scores for this timely production
